The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi and member representing Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Idu, have commended the Nigerian Super Eagles for defeating Cote 'd Ivoire to sour to the final of the African Cup of Nations.
With the victory of the Super Eagles against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, the Eagles will on Sunday battle the host country, Cote 'd Ivoire in the final for the golden trophy even as Eagles have been rated the favourite for the trophy sequel to their wonderful performance especially after the group matches.
In his reaction over the victory of the Super Eagles, the Presidential candidate of LP, Mr. Obi stated that, “Today was yet another victorious outing for Nigeria as our National Team, the Super Eagles displayed great fighting spirit, beating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to take Nigeria to the finals in the ongoing AFCON games.”
In his own contribution, Hon (Engr) Emeka Idu, representing Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency, expressed satisfaction with the victory of Super Eagles.
"I sincerely want to use this opportunity to send my warm congratulations to the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their historic victory over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi finals of the ongoing AFCON.
"I am filled with joy and I can't wait for our dear Super Eagles to bring the trophy home. I know you people are going to make our dear country, Nigeria proud.
"I wish you all the best of luck as you move to the final and I am sure that the sky will be your stepping stone.
"I am proud of you people and Nigerians are proud of you too," he further affirmed.
