Idu leads lawmakers, others to pay homage as Obi celebrates Ofala festival

Hon. Engr Idu Emeka Godwin, member representing Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency, weekend, led Labour Party, LP, lawmakers in the State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North 1 and 2, Onitsha South 1 and 2, among other top LP Chieftains, to the 22nd Ofala festival of the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe.
The lawmakers that accompanied him to the Ofala arena along Awka road included, Hon. Pat Okafor, Hon Jude ifeanyi Umennajiego, Hon. Azuka Enemo and Hon Frederick .C. Ezenwa.
The Labour party chairman of Onitsha North, Dr Charles Ekeke, was not left out as he was also among the party Chieftains that gave colour to the event with his executives.
As Hon. Idu bowed to pay homage, the monarch in acknowledgement responded by calling Idu, "The people's choice."
Hon. Engr Idu Emeka Godwin on behalf of his family and political associates wished the monarch a successful reign, wisdom and strong health as he continues to lead the good people of Onitsha community.
After paying the homage Hon. Idu, with his entourage returned to the LP secretariat, adjascent to the palace, where they took off from, and party members took turn in entertaining themselves.
