The member representing Idemili North and South Federal constituency Hon. Uche Harris Okonkwo has Organised Six days training program aimed at empowering over thirty Idemili women and youths on renewable energy.

The program took place at Ojoto, the Head quarters of Idemili South local Government Area of the State and conducted by Bonita Bay Limited in collaboration with the Energy Commission of Nigerian Renewable Energy.

It was also part of his  program and his effort to fulfill his campaign promises as  regards climate change and sustainability of the environment.

Addressing the participants the Facilitator, Hon.Uche Okonkwo emphasized that climate change is a global issues and it's critical for women and youths to be well informed about the  renewable energies and it's advantages to average Citizens.

Hon. Okonkwo who was  represented by Labour Party Stewart and campaign Women leader in Idemili South, Chief Mrs  Florence Ejiofor disclosed that the program was part of his efforts to fulfill his campaign promises to his Constituents as well as to update knowledge as regards climate change and the sustainability of our environment.

The Law maker however stated that he has kicked off the program with Idemili South with over thirty participants, saying that he would  extend same to Idemili North in no distance time and wished them a successful training.

Hon. Okonkwo maintained that the ongoing training will help to alleviate the current economic hardship in the country since according to him many will be self employed at the end of the training because it involves learning other Skill acquisitions.

Expressing their joy, some of the  participants who spoke with newsmen which included;  Mrs. Oguchukwu Ejiofor from Ojoto ward, Mrs Nkiru Echemunor from Nnobi ward one and Mrs Maryann Chikodili from Alor ward  two, thanked Hon. Okonkwo for have attracted  Bonita Bay Limited and the Energy Commission of Nigeria for the resourceful training. 

The trio further eulogized him  for his bonaverlence and magnanimity towards his Constituents and his sponsoring the training.

They noted that the equipment and capital provided to them after the training would help them implement what they have learnt.

The event featured training proper, Lectures from experts, distribution of equipment and presentation of gift items to over thirty participants.
