Two daredevil armed robbers that specialized in snatching hand bags, handsets and other items while operating on a motorcycle, were  weekend set ablaze by angry mob at Port Harcourt road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State.

According to an eye witness who did not want his name in print, the two-man armed robbery gang reportedly met their waterloo in a bid to disposses passers-by, of their possessions at a gun-point on the fateful day.

"Luck ran out on them when the one that was driving the bike was on the bike waiting, and the other made straight to disposses the passers-by at gunpoint but was overpowered and held by his victims.

"On sensing danger that he would also be attacked having noticed what transpired, the one on bike, in a bid to speed off, for his dear life, was held by some youths who took courage and on the process, the duo armed robbers were set ablaze immediately," he stated.

A resident of the area who simply identified himself as Okeke, said that, " They came from Obosi community, one of them is a notorious armed robber called 'A-Big'. Over 45 handsets they snatched from people were recovered from them, including charms.

"Some people who heard of setting the one called 'A-Big', ablaze, rushed to the scene and recovered their handsets they collected from them at gunpoint. Because of the charms tied in their waist for protection, they did not die immediately," he said.

"The other time at Awka road, they robbed a man and ordered him to transfer #.2million to them or be shot dead. They were operating on kimco high jack motorcycle," he hinted.
