In its bid to ensure victory for candidates of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, come 11 March, 2023, the Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders' Association, ASMATA, Wednesday embarked on road show as means of canvassing for votes for the candidates.


The road show team, that composed of ASMATA executives, chairmen, secretaries of various markets,, make-way group, among others and led by the President General, PG, of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, converged at the ASMATA secretariat along Modebe road, Onitsha, from where they went to scores of communities and markets in the State, to sensitise the people on the need to vote for APGA candidates.


Among the places visited included,
Nkwo Nnewi, Afor Nnobi, Eke Awka Etiti, Oye Afor Uzo Isuofia, Nkwo Igbo Ukwu, Eke Ekwuluobia, among others.

Explaining further the need for the voters to come out en-masse and vote for APGA candidates, the PG said that  Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has done a lot for the traders and people in the State, hinting that he was able to restore peace and security, rehabilitate the roads, stop collection of levies from hawkers, wheel barrow pushers, petty traders and vulknizers.


"Governor Soludo also stopped collection of money from heavy duty vehicles for now and reduced levy paid by tricycle operators. In the country it is in Anambra that the cheapest levy/taxation is paid to the State Government,' he  hinted.

He stated that the majority of  APGA lawmakers in the State House of Assembly would spur him to continue in the infrastructural development of the State adding that there would also not be delay in passage of bills and other State matters.

Highlight of the road show included, distribution of exercise books and fliers to People.
