Unknown gunmen have allegedly declared wanted and placed #10million bounty on two indigenes of Umundugba Orlu community, Isu Local Government Area, Imo State, Mr. Onwumere Maginus Ezinwanne and Mr. Osunwoke Paul Obioma Pedro, for giving information against them to Nigerian security operatives.
The unknown gunmen who were said to have initiated children of politicians and others into their deadly gang, aimed at achieving a Biafran State, had on February 21, 2022, set ablaze houses of a well-known politician, Mr. Onwumere, and that of an informant, Mr. Osunwoke, whom they claimed sabotaged them.
Making this disclosure to newsmen in Onitsha Sunday, an indigene of Umundugba, who simply identified himself as Chief Okafor, said that children of politicians and the rich were always victims when their fathers that are targets escape the wrath of the unknown gunmen.
Explaining further he said, "When the unknown gunmen arrived Umundugba on February 21, 2022, between 1:00am and 2:00am, they started shooting sporadically as they entered the compound of the politician, Mr. Onwumere. The politician was not around, and his only son, Mr. Onwumere Maginus Ezinwanne, fled through the back door.
"So they couldn't lay their hands on both the father and son, and they headed straight to the compound of Mr. Osunwoke, whom they claimed was an informant to the Nigerian government. They couldn't find the man either, and the man's son, Mr. Osunwoke Paul Obioma Pedro, also fled for his life.
" This made the unknown gunmen very angry and they headed to the Umundugba Divisional Police Head quarters and set it ablaze after a heavy gun battle between the unknown gunmen and policemen, which ended up claiming the lives of two policemen because they took the policemen unaware.
"After setting the police station ablaze, they also set all the inmates free. Burnt down the houses of Mr. Onwumere and Mr. Osunwoke which resulted in the death of some family members on the process. The unknown gunmen also declared them wanted and promised to end their lives anywhere they see them.
" Since then, Mr. Onwumere Maginus Ezinwanne and Mr. Osunwoke Paul Obioma Pedro, have been on the run for their lives. The unknown gunmen have also placed a bounty of #5 million naira on each of the sons of the two men, for any useful information about their where-abouts, believing they are informants and saboteurs like their fathers," he stated.
