The traditional ruler of Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo, Monday, berated the Deputy Director, Protocol, to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Mr.Chinedu Nwoye (aka Glamour), for allegedly using his position to incite disunity in Nawfia community.
According to Igwe Nwankwo, the Deputy Director used his position to accord a rival monarch in the community, Igwe Dan Obele, undue recognition as the traditional ruler of the community, when a court has directed that since Igweship crisis in the community is pending in court, that both monarchs should maintain status quo.
"To maintain status quo means I remain the traditional ruler of Nawfia community pending the determination of the substantive suit but the Deputy Director Protocol, abused his position by influencing an APGA candidate in the 2023 Anambra Central Senatorial election, Chief Dozie Nwankwo and other politicians who visited the community recently into believing that Obele is the traditional ruler of the community,
"This is against a court ruling which has since reversed the certificate of recognition wrongly given to him during the Obiano administration.
I urge Governor Chukwuma Soludo to call his protocol aide to order to avoid confusion and causing chaos in Nawfia community," he pleaded.
He maintained further that Nawfia community has one traditional ruler, which is himself (Nwankwo), as empowered by law and the Nawfia traditional institution.
Igwe Nwankwo consequently, issued a strong statement to politicians dealing with his rival, Igwe Obele, to be cautious so as not to jeopardize their political aspirations this election era.
